ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Village of Florida
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Board of the Village of
Florida, Orange County, New York will accept sealed bids until 10:00
AM prevailing eastern time on Tuesday, the 30th day of September,
2025 at the office of said Board, Village Hall, 33 South Main Street,
Florida, New York, for Senior Center Parking Lot Retaining Wall
Installation, Village of Florida, New York.
All bids shall be made on the form provided in the specifications.
Bids shall be sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope “Bid
for Senior Center Parking Lot Retaining Wall Installation” and shall
be addressed to the Village Board, Village of Florida, 55 South Main
Street, Florida, New York 10921. Bids will be publicly opened and read
at the aforesaid time and date unless bidders are notified otherwise.
The work consists of furnishing all labor and materials required to
design and install a modular concrete block retaining wall system
approximately 240 linear feet long with an average height of four (4)
feet above grade.
To the fullest extent allowable by law the Town Board reserves the
right to waive any informalities in the bid or proposals, and to select
the bid or proposal, the acceptance of which in its judgment will best
serve the efficient performance and guaranteed completion of the
work or to reject any and all bids presented, or to award the contract
to other than the low bidder or to multiple bidders if, in the opinion
of the Board, the best interest of the Town may be served thereby, or
to accept the whole or any part of a bid or proposal as the same may
be modified by mutual consent, or to re-advertise the proposed work
for new bids within the sole discretion of the said Town Board.
Attention of bidders is called to the requirements as to conditions
of employment to be observed and prevailing wage rates to be paid
under the contract. Workers’ Compensation and Public Liability
Insurance shall be carried by the contractor at his own expense.
Bidders are further advised that they must agree to a non-collusion
affirmation together with their bid, in accordance with the
requirements of New York State Law.
Bidders are advised that they should not include in their bid sales
and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to
be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold
by the Contractor to the municipality prior to incorporation into the
work.
All bidders are required to familiarize themselves with the existing
conditions and proposed improvements prior to submitting the
sealed proposal in accordance with this Advertisement for Bids.
